FUNcube Dongle Pro+ LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF Software Defined Radio

Howard Long G6LVB has released a video showing reception of the FITSAT-1 CubeSat 437.250 MHz CW beacon using just a 1/4 wave antenna on a baking tray sat on his balcony in London. The receiver was a FUNcube Dongle Pro+ LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF Software Defined Radio (SDR). No preamp or external filtering were used.

FITSAT-1 was deployed along with WE-WISH, TechEdSat, F-1 and RAIKO from the International Space Station (ISS) on Thursday, October 4. See the stunning pictures of the deployment at

The FUNcube Dongle Pro+ SDR is a complete redesign of the original FUNcube Dongle with many performance improvements and additional features.

It covers LF, MF, HF, VHF, UHF and L Band (coverage is 150kHz-240MHz and 420MHz to 1.9GHz), and has an increased frequency span of 192kHz.

It is due to hit the shelves in mid-October and you can add your name to the waiting list here.

The FUNcube Dongle SDR was originally developed for educational outreach as part of the ground segment for the FUNcube satellite. A proportion of the sales goes to support the AMSAT-UK FUNcube satellite project.
