ARISSat-1
This video from the ARRL/TAPR DCC in Atlanta produced by Gary Pearce KN4AQ of HamRadioNow shows the presentation given by Steve Bible N7HPR in which he reviews a survey showing just how hams and non-hams (primarily teachers) participated in the ARISSat / KEDR project (the follow-up to SuitSat, without the suit).
In this video Mike Johnson of NanoRacks gives an overview of the NanoLab Experiment to the group assembled for the International Space Station Research Competition Workshop Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Florida Solar Energy Center.
Space Florida and NanoRacks have partnered to provide a Competition in which up to 8 Winners will have an opportunity to fly their payloads to the International Space Station (ISS) and have scientific research conducted on board the U.S. National Lab. It is intended that the winning payloads will fly on a SpaceX Falcon 9 inside the Dragon spacecraft, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Pete Sipple M0PSX who runs the Essex Ham and FrequencyCast websites received this Slow Scan TV (SSTV) picture transmitted by the amateur radio station on the International Space Station on Friday, November 9.
After being tipped off via the ISS Fan Club website that SSTV was active, he calculated a suitable overhead path and connected the audio output of his 2 metre rig to the soundcard on my PC, and tuned in. The frequency in use for the downlink was 145.800MHz, and he set up a digital recorder to capture the received audio.

On Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 1204 UT, students from Institute Comprehensive in Govone, Nino Costa Middle school in Priocca and Institute Comprehensive in Diano dAlba, Italy established ARISS contact with JAXA astronaut Akihiko Hoshide KE5DNI onboard the International Space Station. Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide KE5DNI operated with the ISS callsign OR4ISS.
FSpace F-1 Amateur Radio CubeSat
Since the amateur radio F-1 CubeSat was deployed from the International Space Station (ISS) on October 4 there have been no confirmed reception reports.
The attempts to recover the CubeSat are now focusing on reception of the backup UHF FM channel 437.485 MHz (+/-10 kHz Doppler shift). This FM beacon should transmit Morse Code for 20 seconds every 80 seconds during daylight.

The FPT University FSpace team have issued a statement:
Sunita Williams KD5PLB on the International Space Station
The Times of India reports that a group of students in Gujarat will reach out to the stars. About 500 students hope to have a live amateur radio contact with the Commander of the International Space Station Sunita Williams KD5PLB. It is believed this would be the first ISS contact made by Indian students and should take place using the ham radio station at Science City in Ahmedabad.
The newspaper says it is hoped to hold the contact between November 12 and 16. Read the story at
