Canadian – Norwegian Student Exchange, Rocket & CubeSat Program
This video provides a short description of the Canada-Norway Student Sounding Rocket (CaNoRock) exchange program and plans for the student CaNoSat sub-orbital CubeSats.
CaNoRock is a partnership between the Universities of Alberta, Calgary and Saskatchewan, the University of Oslo, University of Tromsø, Andøya Rocket Range and NAROM (Norwegian Center for Space Related Education) in Norway. The University of Bergen and University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) in Norway are currently working to be included in the program.
Review of FUNcube Dongle Pro+ in Radio User Magazine
Mike Richards G4WNC was lucky enough to get serial number 0046 from the first batch of the AMSAT-UK FUNcube Dongle Pro+ LF/MF/HF/VHF/UHF Software Defined Radio.
He has written a four page review of the SDR that has just been published in the December issue of Radio User magazine on sale now from UK High Street newsagents such as W.H.Smith.

The FUNcube Dongle Pro+ SDR was developed for educational outreach as part of the ground segment for the FUNcube satellite.
A proportion of the FCD-Pro+ sales goes to support the AMSAT-UK FUNcube satellite project.
.Oculus-ASR Microsatellite
Oculus-ASR is a 70 kg satellite 45.72 cm by 78.74 cm by 45.72 cm. It consists of two modules that are permanently attached. An octagonal module, referred to as the Oculus module, sits atop a square module, known as the ASR module.
The Michigan Technological University Aerospace Enterprise team are proposing to fly a V/U transceiver with an AX.25 packet downlink.

Kickstarter crowdfunding site launches in the UK
Kickstarter, which been used to fund a number of Amateur Radio projects in the USA, has now launched in the UK.
Radio ham Zac Manchester KD2BHC used Kickstarter to raise $74,586 in donations to fund the development and deployment of 200 amateur radio KickSat sprite satellites.
The amateur radio satellite project ArduSat managed to raise donations of $106,330 in just 30 days.
Kickstarter is not just about raising large sums of money, for example Sandy Antunes used Kickstarter to raise $2,780 to buy a ham radio transceiver and antennas to create an amateur radio satellite ground station Calliope
